INTRODUCING THE ONTARIO WOMEN'S INTERCOLLEGIATE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
The Ontario Women's Intercollegiate Football Association is the leading competitive women’s flag-football league for universities/colleges across Ontario! Teams have existed for over 10 years and have now established an association to govern women's football at the intercollegiate/varsity level.

The Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Football Association (OWIFA) is a league organized and run by women’s football programs from colleges and universities across Ontario. The women’s football season includes four to five, two-day tournaments during the months of February and March. Women’s football has grown extensively over the last few years including, an improvement in the quality of programs and increased engagement of our game, with teams existing for over 8 years. Our athletes are advocates for women in sport.
The purpose of OWIFA is to:
Provide a competitive flag football experience for post-secondary/collegiate women athletes across Ontario
Increase football knowledge, expertise, and strategy of women
Foster a supportive community that encourages leadership development, companionship, and positive physical and mental health through football
Offer a diverse and inclusive sporting experience for women collegiate athletes. We are working towards creating equal opportunities for women in football.
Our league consists of over 400 athletes and 70+ coaches that participate in ratified women’s football programs at Laurier University, McMaster University, the University of Waterloo, the University of Toronto, York University, Ontario Tech University, Western University, Queen's University, and Guelph region.
